Valerie J. Evans was born in Chanute Air Force Base, near Rantoul, Illinois in 1964. After graduation from Midwest City High School in 1982 she enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard receiving her commission in 1984. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma in 1986. She received her Juris Doctor in 1990 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. During her tenure in the Oklahoma Army National Guard she was assigned to various positions to include Postal Officer, Reserve Forces Office of the Selective Service System, Strength Accounting Officer, Inspector General and as the S-1 Officer of the Regional Training Institute. In 2004, Ms. Evans retired after 22 years of service in 2004, attaining the rank of Major. She is a member of various bar associations, serves on numerous committees and concentrates her practice in the areas of consumer advocacy, personal injury and workers compensation.
